The SunsetAltair walked down the line of flowers, carefully examining and caressing each one. He chose only the softest and most beautiful flowers to buy and took them to a young man at a cash register. He totaled up the cost and Altair payed for it. "Sir, I do believe you miscounted.." he said, staring at the jar filled with twenties.
"You're right. I did miscount." Altair dug all of the cash he had from his wallet and placed it in the jar.
"It is a very special day today, son. Everyone deserves to be happy this afternoon."
The cashier gaped at him. So much money! He could afford real food! No more ramen?!
"You see, it is my anniversary."
"Well congratulations sir! How many years?" the teen asked, excitement and gratitude in his eyes.
"Love is not measured by years. Time is a way to tell the age of a body. Not the strength of the bonds that the soul inside creates."
